Online Service History

The latest generation of BMW & MINI models now feature an online service history. This does away with the need for a conventional service booklet which are prone to getting lost throughout a cars life and are open to manipulation. The system can only be updated or added to by BMW or MINI main dealers or independent garages who are subscribed to BMW’s online services giving peace of mind about your car’s history. The complete service history is available to view online by us, which is especially useful when working out which service is required next and enables us to easily inform you of your cars history.


When your car comes in to the garage, the service requirements are read out from the vehicle via the ignition key using our BMW key reader. You then agree which service items are going to be carried out by the workshop and with your consent, the service data is synchronised with BMW’s servers in Munich. The data sent includes the current date and mileage, the service items being carried out and the dealer/garage carrying out the work. A printed confirmation is provided for your own records.


Once the car is in the workshop and work is underway, the technician connects the car to our BMW diagnostics and in turn, to their servers in Munich which allows us to update the cars ‘idrive’ system with the latest service history and reset the service lights. This will be visible in the car immediately to see when you collect. This system was introduced in 2011 and is being gradually phased in across the BMW and MINI range as new models are released.
